The Apple Watch and iPhone 6 May Change Event Planning

The release of any new tech product brings new possibilities to the event planning space, and with a major player like Apple — the new iPhone 6 and Apple watch are no exception.

New Products: The newest iPhone is being released in two versions, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The iPhone 6 Plus takes a page from the extremely popular Samsung Galaxy series – it's screen, at 5.5 inches, is noticeably larger. In addition, Apple announced it's new Apple Watch, to be paired with an iPhone, which will be available in 2015.

New technology: Many festival attendees are already familiar with RFID (radio frequency identification) technology — it's the chip in your wristband that allows you to scan in your ticket, “check in” via social media, or load money onto your wristband for a cashless festival. The new Apple products have a similar technology — NFC (near-field communication) will allow iPhone users to scan their phone to make payments, which will be connected to an Apple Pay account. In terms of event planning, this technology will allow users to register for an event, exchange contact info, or check in to sessions.
