Charitable Giving Increased in 2014

For the third consecutive year, charitable giving to nonprofits is up in the United States. In an article by Associations Now, Blackbaud released their findings on charitable giving for 2014. Some of the key findings include:
 

  • Charitable giving increased by 2.1%
  • $16.2 billion in total donations
  • 2014 was a year without a major fundraising event (i.e. natural disaster)
  • #GivingTuesday saw 36% increase in online donations;15% increase in the number of nonprofits receiving a donations
