Funding Cards in 12 Seconds or Less – How Businesses Use PEX Card


PEX card is a smart way for companies to manage employee spending while in the field. Here is a scenario PEX Card customers repeat multiple times per day:

A field service business (e.g. maintenance, cleaning, installation, repair technicians) with 12 employees is using PEX to manage operational, day-to-day expenditures for gas, job materials, etc.

All card balances are all set to $0 in the admin dashboard – mainly because there is no need for anyone to spend money unless they get authorization from a manager ahead of time.

One employee calls in to report a broken saw blade; the business owner tells him to go to the supply store to pick up a new one.

He calls from the point of sale to say it will cost $87.42 to buy the part. He holds a moment and the business owner:

1) Opens the PEX Card app on a smartphone and logs in (3 sec),
2) Navigates to the Cards section (1 sec),
3) Selects the person (1 sec),
4) Types 87.42 in the Quick Fund field and tap Add Funds (5 sec)

Boom! Card is funded.

5) Employee swipes the card (2 sec).

Transaction goes through; he's on his way!

Funding the employee’s PEX Card took 12 seconds…and the business owner can see the transaction on the mobile app in the cardholder’s transaction detail immediately.  If it’s a part the business can bill back to the customer, the bookkeeper can issue an invoice the same day.
