The PEX Story

Learn about the origin of PEX and how we became an expense prepaid card innovator
and a leader in expense and spend management.

Mission: Deliver insight, innovation, and technology to be indispensable to the way companies operate their business.
PEX was founded in 2006 by our CEO Toffer Grant. With a background in the payments industry, Toffer founded PEX when it became apparent to him that banks and card issuers were burdening small and mid-sized businesses with outdated, expensive, and inefficient solutions to manage the vital operations of their business. PEX was built expressly to solve for those gaps.

Since launch, PEX has been the leader in creating next generation expense management solutions. We allow companies to enable employee spending while maintaining control in ways they never could have before. Our efforts are driving a shift in the way companies manage employee spending and we are rapidly replacing traditional reimbursement-based expense approaches and traditional corporate cards.

Today, PEX has a staff of nearly 100 innovators, disruptors, and builders and we serve thousands of businesses nationwide across a wide variety of industries.

As part of the larger payments and expense management ecosystem, we are a leader in empowering businesses to focus less on the day-to-day operational hassles that can hamper growth and more on their own core mission and aspirations.
